About Heather Hamilton


A Career in Public Service

  • Currently works for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation where she has overseen fleet operations, Title VI programs, and worked on the successful implementation of the All Electronic Tolling project.


  • Prior to MassDOT, Heather has worked for various public agencies including the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Aviation Administration, and Amtrak.


  • She has two masters degrees: Masters in Public Policy from George Mason University in Transportation Policy, Operations, & Logistics (2010) as well as a Masters in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School (2016).


  • Because of her expertise in fleet management, she was invited to serve as a Panel Member

    for the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies for two research problems.


  • Member, Harvard Club of Boston’s Pension and Retirement Committee


  • Board Member, Pro Bono Public Pensions, Inc.

Committed to Accessibility, Education, and Responsible Development

  • Believes that all modes of transportation gives us choices. The more choices, the more freedom.

  • Regardless of mode, safety is the utmost concern and a principle that she has worked diligently to ensure.

  • Our schools are one of our most precious resources and must be invested in prudently based on current and future enrollment.

  • Brookline is facing some unprecedented changes. The slew of 40B projects, along with other proposed development will have huge impacts on our town’s resources. But with every challenge, there is an opportunity to engage in the public process and discuss our shared vision for the future of Brookline.

  • Volunteer, No on 2, campaign to advocate against lifting the cap on charter schools in MA
